Rev. Fr. Rolando A. Tuazon, C.M., Ph.D., S.T.D.
Rolando A. Tuazon, CM, a Filipino Vincentian priest, has been the Executive Director of the Philippine Action for Community-Led Shelter Initiatives, Inc. (PACSII) since 2019. He has had a lot of experiences in organizing communities into becoming Basic Ecclesial Communities when he was working as the parish priest of Santuario de San Vicente de Paul, 221 Tandang Sora Ave. Quezon City since 2012 until 2018. He initiated a lot of programs for the parish including the following: Day Care Center, Community Medical and Dental Clinic, Special Education for people with disabilities, Scholarship Programs, Public Library in the informal settlements, Livelihood Programs, Disaster Risk Reduction Management, Environmental Programs like Urban Gardening, and some other empowering projects for the poor.
Presently, he is presently assigned as the Dean of St. Vincent School of Theology-Adamson University. He serves as the Editor-in-chief of HAPAG, the school’s interdisciplinary journal in Theology. He is a professor of Moral Theology at St. Vincent School of Theology, and became a regular visiting professor at the Seminario Mayor de San Carlos in Cebu and at the Our Lady of the Good Counsel Seminary in Pampanga and other schools of Theology. He has done researches, delivered lectures and published locally and internationally in the areas of Social Teaching of the Church, Narrative and Liberation Ethics, Food Security, Human Rights, Sexual Violence against Women, and Environmental Ethics. He is a member of DAKATEO, an Association of Filipino Theologians in the Philippines. He has teamed up with the Socio-Pastoral Institute in giving training on Stewardship Spirituality. He was involved for many years in the work of seminary formation. He obtained his bachelor’s degree in philosophy from Adamson University (1984), licentiate (2002) and doctorate (2006) in Moral Theology from the Catholic University of Louvain, Belgium.
