Ramadan is the auspicious month of fasting and is celebrated with a thirty day fast period from sunrise to sunset. It is a month of prayer, charity, and inner reflection of the highest level. Zakat is a tax levied on all Muslims for the year. This is a charity given to the most needy people. PACSI celebrates this month in the same vein as other Muslims. However, the celebration after the month of fasting is an annual reflective event that is open to the public. A planning committee has been established for this event.
